Charles W. Lane has been rated by his peers as having a very high level of expertise, professional ability, and ethical standards. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University with a BA. He received his JD from the Tulane Law School, and received his LLM from the University of Washington, in Seattle. After graduating from Tulane Law school, Mr. Lane was an Assistant District Attorney in New Orleans. During his tenure as an A.D.A. Mr. Lane gained vast experience in Criminal Law. Mr. Lane brought to trial over 130 felony cases including numerous murder, rape, illegal drugs, and other felony matters. Mr. Lane was also responsible for training fellow prosecutors in trial skills and techniques.
Mr. Lane has been practicing law in Western Washington for 9 years, primarily in the Puget Sound area, and has handled all types of criminal cases, ranging from DUI to murder. This also includes numerous illegal drug cases, sex offenses, and Assault 4 domestic violence. He has extensive experience with the inner workings of the criminal courts in Olympia, Tacoma, and Seattle, while completely covering Thurston, Pierce, King, Mason, and Kitsap counties. He has taken the fight to Vancouver, in Clark County, and has represented clients in Jefferson County, as well. He is an aggressive champion for his clients, and never loses sight of the client's best interest. The Lane Law Firm has offices in Olympia and Shelton.
Charles L. Olsen

Charles worked in Civilian Law enforcement from 1981-2003, as a police officer for the City of Shelton, Washington. In that capacity, he served as a patrolman, a Department Firearms Instructor, a D.A.R.E. Officer, and as a Patrol Sergeant. As a detective, he was assigned to the West Sound Narcotics Enforcement Team from 1999-2003.
During his Law Enforcement career Mr. Olsen participated in hundreds of investigations involving possession, delivery and the manufacturing of illegal drugs. He also conducted investigations where he purchased illegal drugs in an undercover capacity.
Mr. Olsen worked in conjunction with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office while conducting an extensive, narcotics related R.I.C.O. investigation. He also assisted the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) with numerous federal level narcotic investigations. Mr. Olsen routinely worked narcotics related cases that resulted in the forfeiture of funds and personal property as allowed under State and Federal asset forfeiture laws.
As a private investigator Mr. Olsen has conducted investigations on a wide variety of criminal defense cases. Mr. Olsen has also testified in court for the defense as an expert witness in trials involving manufacturing marijuana, distribution of methamphetamine and assault with a firearm. He has a vast knowledge of the prosecutorial mindset in bringing charges against an individual and is very familiar with the inner workings of the system throughout Western Washington.
