Driving Under the Influence, DUI
In the
last year the Washington Legislature took great measures to change the
DUI laws to make it easier for the State to impose harsher penalties on
drivers. This was done primarily in response to successful challenges
that required the State to follow its own rules. Now the State, through
SB3550 and SB2660, which became effective June 10, 2004, has amended
numerous DUI - related Statutes to make it easier for the State to impose
even harsher penalties. These bills are successfully being challenged
in courts throughout the state.
The penalties for a DUI conviction can now include a year in jail, an interloc device on your vehicle, loss of your driving privileges, and increased insurance rates. You need someone that knows the law and the system in your corner. Let us bring the fight!
